Blackjack is hugely popular for several reasons. You are dealt 2 cards. The value of the cards you have is added together. The value should be as close to 21 as possible without going over (in which case you lose). You can keep receiving cards as long as you like to get closer to 21. Jack, Queen and King are all worth 10, ace is worth 1 or 11 (depending which you prefer, and it can be changed at any time).

Once you've settled on a number the dealer does the same and tries to either beat your hand or get to 17. Once the dealer either beats your hand or reaches 17 he stops twisting.

If the player wins they win double their stake!

In addition to this a player can also win 1.5 their stake if they get deal a "blackjack" with their first two cards - this comprises of an ace and a card worth 10.
