Playing in Tight & Loose Poker Games

If we playing a normal difficult game and we imagine that our opponents are also playing pretty well, we should still be able to gain some money in these loose games. But we will not win as much as we can if we make some adjustments. The correct paradigm to hit lose games is quite different from what usually many people tend to think.

The idea is not to punish someone immediately since we have a winning edge already. It is often better to wait until for several rounds when our position is still better so that we can make our move. Also, we must find that our advantage has vanished and we will also be satisfied that we did not make any extra bets at an early stage. Many of the inexperienced players go too far at this stage when their hands are perfect opponents. We must make some noteworthy adjustments for exploiting them to the maximum and to get the best out of the situation. This is inclusive of hands played by us before flop, what hands we raise with, the hands which we do not raise, and how we play these hands on later streets. When pots become huge, the important point is to win them. Winning these hands alone is not the point of betting. Sometimes, we should not bet and wait for the coming round to raise later. There is no lack of loose games and many of card rooms around the country are loose games. By following these simple tips, we can win these loose games easily.

Extremely tight poker games are still profitable, except there is no significant bet for blinds. Mostly the gain comes from robbing blinds earlier to the flop, but also from stealing on flop and Fourth Street. We should bet against our opponents when we flop nothing or litter. When we are playing opposite more than 1 opponent and hold nothing, it is better to check on flop particularly in case if we are in a early position and see whether our opponents bet. We should fold if they do such things. If they do not, we should try stealing the pot on 4th street, unless an over card falls in some cases.

We should understand the profits from these tight poker games which come especially from our bluffs. We cannot expect doing much better than breaking from our legal hands since our average hands while starting will be worse than the starting hands of our opponents. If we have tough opponents, and the game is tight, we should forget about winning the game as the above strategy might fail in such cases as they will trap us into bluffing. We should leave such games to world champions.
