Texas Holdem Pre-Flop Tips – A 7 Step Guide To Winning The Big Pots!

It’s all in the right timings that can get you to the winnings. You have keep your eyes open in the pre-flop and if you are looking hard enough, you will know you got to fold if you cant win it and you will also know to stay put if you have a good chance.

Enough said about looking. Now let’s talk about the important part, i.e. where to look. Let me put this up in the popular 7 point form.

Point-1: Number of players

The number of players on the table makes a lot of difference. Its common sense that the more the players on the table, the more the competition and the harder it gets to win. The maximum number of players in this form of poker is 10. If there are full 10 players playing, there is a big chance that one or more of the nine of other players are better than you. You need keep a leash on your aggression and give away, as little as you can.

Point-2: Style

Aggression varies from person to person, so it definitely must vary from player to player on the poker table. Some players will tend to be aggressive with the betting, some will be passive. If you see a player raising his hands pre flop, you have to get tighter.

Point-3: Mind your chips

What good winning? I will say its betting less and winning more. That’s just what to do when you have fewer chips. Get your bets going and try to get more and more players involved to get the pot bigger and get the bigger win

And in case you have a high number of chips then you have to place your bets with aim of getting the maximum players involved in mind. That can really get the bigger dough into the pot.

Point-4: Your place on the table

Players who come in late on the table usually can have the upper hand if they are clever enough. Being late on the table, their hand is not easily guessed by other players. So, in the pre flop, the early players should keep the late players in mind. These players can also play weaker hands with more ease as they are on an already set table, so be crouched alert, to grab the opportunity.

Point-5: Know your hands

Hands that win are the real hands. Not all hands you make out or think are good do not matter. You have to calculate what can get the pot to you. Calculation is important because it is always a probability that you think you got a great set of cards in your hand, but it just turn out to be good enough. And it is also a probability that your ‘just ok’ hand is good enough to win and you keep waiting unnecessarily.

Point-6: Timing

No matter what the game, timing is of utmost important. You have to hit the iron, when it’s hot, as the old saying says. The same goes for poker, you have to know when to raise your hand or even when to fold. If you do it at the wrong time, you may not win all what you could have, or you may even end up losing. The point is if you have a good hand and you know it, then you just have to wait for the pot to get bigger. What’s the point in winning the small dough, if you could win the bigger one?

Point-7: Give your fingers some practice

Practice makes a man perfect. But well, you are not going to become a perfect winner in poker because of the chance involved, but you can definitely improve your chances. Practice to improve your patience, your calculations, your timings and all the stuff I mentioned in the points above.

Poker is game of skills, skills that can win you big. Chance is there, yes, but you can’t to do anything about it. So just forget the luck and trust your skills.
