Poker Dictionary Terms and Jargon

F family pot, feeder, fifth street, fill up, final table, first postion, five of a kind, flash, flat call, float, flop, flop game, flush, fold, fold equity, forced bet, forced move, forward motion, four of a kind, fourth street, free card, freeroll, freezeout, full house, full ring

family pot - when in a game of poker where almost all the player involved call the opening bet

feeder - when playing in a casino around the main table is feeder poker tables where player and moved to the main table as other players are knocked out

fifth street - the last card dealt in a community poker game. Also known as the river card

fill up - to successfully get the last card required to fill a straight, flush or full house

final table - in multi-table poker tournaments players and eliminated until there are normally 10 players left which are moved to the final table for the main event

first position - the player who sits on the left of the dealer sit and must act first

five of a kind - when playing poker with wilds and a player fills 4 cards of the same value and also holds the wild card

flash - when the dealer flashes the bottom card on the deck or if a player shows his cards after all players have folded he said to have flashed his bluff and flash the cards to show he have the winning hand

flat call - when a poker player just calls a bet without raising

float - when holding a strong hand and continuing to just call the bet hoping for a higher bet to be placed. Similar to show play

fold equity - always an advantage forcing a player to fold with having to show your cards

forced bet -

forced more - when a player must more from one of the feeder tables surrounding the main table

forward motion - in casino poker play a player may more his chips with his hands towards the center on the table, dealer or pot. This is considered a bet or a call and a player cannot withdraw
