shoe - in casinos and professional poker tournaments the cards which are ready to be dealt are normally held in a shoe

shootout - a large poker room with more than one table, after a player has defeated all the other players he is then moved onto another table

short buy - to buy into a game of poker for less than the original buy in. a player will not receive any more chips that any player holds

short stack - as the blinds increase players with a short stack or low chip count are now under serious pressure

short handed - when six or less poker player start a tournament

show down - a the end of betting if two or more players are still in the game they must turn their cards over to determine the winner

side game - a shorthanded game of poker no played at the main table. usually played by players who have already been knocked out of the main tournament

side pot - if a player with a shortstack goes all in and other player continue to pet a side pot is made from the chips where only this player can win

sit n go - the game of poker starts when enough player having paid the buy-in. When playing online for low stakes tables fills quick and play begins

slow play -

slow roll - delaying turning your cards over when a showdown takes places
