advertising - this is when a player tells the table what cards he might be holding in one way or another. If a player shows there cards after all other players have folded they are trying to tell the other player there way of playing. If the player was holding the best hand players a likely to think he/she only bets when they are holding the winning hand. If the player is holding a very weak hand other player will think that his style of playing is bluff now and again and next time his opponents might call when he is holding the winning hand

all-in - when a poker player places all the chips in one pot

angle - when a player raises the pot with an odd number of chips, where other players are now confused if he wanted to call or raise. With a good hand comes a good raise with a odd weak raise player can find it difficult to follow your style of betting

ante off - when a player leaves the table and still has chips remaining his blinds are posted automatically to make the game more fair. Players may return to the table at any time.

backdoor - a good example of a backdoor win is if a player hold the 6 of diamonds in his hole cards and three more diamonds one board. 8d 9d kd his is now hoping for a flush. Dealer draws 7 of clubs and 10 of hearts and player wins a straight.

back into - two player who are drawing a flush and both would fold to any bet. neither player get and pot is checked. Highest card wins

bank - the dealer, the casino, the person responsible for dealing the poker cards, controlling the blinds and paying the winner at the end

bankroll - the amount of money and player has betted during there poker career

blank - a card dealt in the community cards but having no value to either player

bubble - where all player hate to get knocked out, a poker tournament pays for the last 16 in a tournament and person knocked out in 17th position he is said to have been knocked out on the bubble

bully - a player who frequently raises and re-raise more cautions player to hope for a fold. Player holding a large chip stack or more likely to play like this

burn card -

busted - when a player goes bust and the table and lose of there chips or if a player is chasing a straight and never get he busted

button - a dealer chip passed around the table in clock-wise direction to indicate who deals, and places the blinds

buy-in the minimum amount a chips a player must purchase before entering a tournament

buy the pot - when all players are showing weak hand and no one is betting, a reasonable bet can force all poker players to fold and you take the blinds and any small bets that were placed

call -

cap - the number of raises allowed in one single round of betting, usually 3 or 4 raises is the maximum allowed and some tournaments casinos remove this rule is a game of head's up

case card - known that all other cards of the same value have been dealt and looking for the last. Board shows Qd, Qh, 10c, 6s and you hold the Qs. Catching the case card Qc you win the 4 queens

cash game -

catch perfect - the dealer turns the last two cards you required to make the winning pot for maybe a royal flush or straight flush where you know you have the best possible hand

center pot - the main pot in a game of poker placed in the center on of poker table

cutoff - the player sitting to the right of the dealer chip has a choice to cut the cards

dead blind - a blind which the player does not have the choice to raise if the other poker player just call. They can happen when a player is entering a game of poker and returning to the table

dead hand - when a player is forced to fold his cards because of a mistake made by him or the dealer. for example if the player holds three cards in a game of no-limit texas holdem or touch's another players cards

deal - dealing to cards to all players according to the rules of the particular game of poker been played

dealer - the person responsible for distributing the cards among the players and the board

dealer choice - as the dealer bottom rotates around the table the dealer has the choice to choose the type of poker he want to play

declare - the verbally indicate the the dealer and other players your action

deuce to seven - a method of evaluation low poker hands

dirty stack - a stake of chips which are not all of the same value

double raise - the minimum raise allowed in a game of no-limit or pot-limit poker

double suited - term used in a game of omaha hold'em. When a player receive 4 cards face down and holds two pairs in his hand

downcard - when a card is dealt face down

drawing dead - if a player cannot possibly win the pot even if they fill when they are looking for as opponent has been dealt a better hand like a house, flush or straight

drawing thin - when a player is chasing a straight or a card to give him the winning pot but odds are unlikely he is said to be drawing thin

drop - when a player folds there poker cards

dry ace - when a player holds a ace but has no other cards of the same suit on board

dry pot - in a game which ends in a side pot and one player raises and in only called
